A challenging year of change

Sustainability Report 2024

As we sum up 2024, we recognize that many things have changed around us. There are positive developments, such as the advancement of European environmental legislation, shaping the industry. At the time of writing, the implementation of the new FuelEU Maritime regulation is opening up markets for renewable vessel fuel. We can see competitive advantages emerging from our investments in energy-efficient dual-fuel vessels.

A Year of Confirmation and Recognition

Sustainability Report 2023

In 2023, Furetank solidified its commitment to sustainability, confirming that its 2015 decision to invest in advanced environmental vessel technology was correct. Nine VINGA vessels are operational, with 13 more under construction. Long-term charters and vessel sales reflect a global trend toward improved environmental performance. Furetank's fleet, featuring state-of-the-art technology and eco-friendly designs, surpassed IMO's 2030 emission targets. Initiatives include shore power capabilities and reduced methane emissions, demonstrating leadership in sustainable shipping.

A historical year for Furetank of climate-efficient investments

Sustainability Report 2022

2022 was a year of historically unmatched investments for Furetank. We extended the climate-optimized VINGA vessel series with no less than nine new vessel orders placed together with partners. One was ordered by Erik Thun AB and the remaining eight through the 50/50 joint venture FureBear, co-owned by Furetank and our Canadian business partner Algoma Central Corporation. Joining forces with a company across the Atlantic, sharing our values and belief in the future, is, simply put, amazing.
